Zazenkai Wir freuen uns, am Sonntag, 6. Dezember 2020 ein Zazenkai in Zürich anzubieten – eine ganztägige Meditation mit Vortrag. Manfred Kakudo Hellrigl, Zen-Lehrer und Leiter von Felsentor, wird uns durch den Tag führen. Sie sind auch ohne Erfahrung herzlich willkommen! Wir beginnen um 10 Uhr. Bitte kommen Sie einige Minuten früher, um in bequeme Kleidung zu wechseln und sich an Ihrem Platz einzurichten. Bitte bringen Sie Ihr eigenes Mittagessen mit. Für Tee und Snacks ist gesorgt. Möglich ist auch, für einen halben Tag teilzunehmen. Wir beenden das Zazenkai um 16 Uhr. Für eine Dana-Spende sind wir sehr dankbar. Die Plätze werden diesmal begrenzt sein, um sicherzustellen, dass wir die Abstandsregelung einhalten können. Bitte melden Sie sich bis 30. November an. Bitte beachten Sie, dass wir das Zazenkai möglicherweise kurzfristig verschieben müssen, aufgrund der aktuellen Lage. Meet the practitioners… Claudia Born in Brazil and grew up intending to become a doctor until I was sent to an International Exchange Student Program in the USA. A very defining experience…I later studied economics but my heart was not in it, so I wandered for years, travelling around.
In California, I was introduced to the Self Realization Fellowship, of the Indian Guru, Paramahamsa Yogananda, where I started to practice meditation. Then one day, I was sent to visit the Zazen Practice and at first sight- it was as if I had arrived home! That was in spring of 2015.
All my life I worked independently on different projects, the last time at a Cardiology Clinic that lasted for 13 years. I live in Zürich now since 2019 and work on a Digital Healthcare project. So, not a doctor, but still working with medicine in the secular world and, at the same time, following in Buddha’s Path.!
Meditation is… to know oneself, and to know oneself is to let go of oneself; it is to experience the interconnected world in everything and everybody coming across your life.
Meditation is… each and every moment. You realize and experience the wonder of all things.
Lisander MuShin Born in Basel, I live near the city of Zurich, in a small village by the forest and mountains. For some years, I also lived in Brazil. When I moved to Zurich in 2010, it felt like coming home.
After several years of trying to live my life as a musician, I studied informatics and currently work in business and data analysis.
Meditation is… multi-faceted for all the things it does with you and also the effects that last long afterwards.
Damian Born in an ambulance in a tunnel in Fujisawa, Japan.. I now live in Zürich. I am a graphic designer and currently study Fine Arts. I enjoy drawing, painting, making music and bouldering.
Meditation is… profound love: leading back to the intrinsic intimacy with all things. I often find it difficult letting go of the three poisons (Delusion, Attachment & Aversion).
Benjamin Born in Berlin, I lived in Zurich for the last 5 years and currently study in Heidelberg for half a year.
I originally studied mathematics and economics and worked in those areas for a while. I now work as German language teacher. Currently, I am also studying theatre pedagogy. I would like to use this to teach Theater to children and youth.
I enjoy practising the guitar and currently reading the book: "The more beautiful world our hearts know is possible" by Charles Eisenstein, which inspires me a lot. I also started skating one month ago- I am still not sure if this was a good idea as my left shoulder still hurts.
Meditation is… giving me the feeling that everything sinks in and I pass through life a little bit lighter. However, it is difficult not to take myself too seriously in this process.
Katerina Joriki Born in Civitavecchia, the harbor town of Rome, I have lived in a number of countries throughout my life before settling in Zürich in 2006. This is where I live with my family and a few animal companions, just outside the city. With my family, I also spend a lot of time in a small cabin in the mountains. I enjoy curling up with a book or sitting by a fire in the midst of nature and the elements.
For many years, I worked in large multinational oganizations on different projects, followed by studies and work as a documentary filmmaker.
In 2013, I began practicing Zen, which instantly felt like the home of my heart. Around the same time, I embarked on a journey of exploration: studies and work experience with a focus on meditation and care professions. This included caring for myself and for others- spiritually, physically and mentally. Most of all, just being present for all of it.
Meditation is… a necessity. It is in this stillness that I touch the untouchable, hear the unheard. On some days, I walk- before I can sit still.

What’s in a name? Unsui 雲水 bedeutet im Japanischen «Wolke und Wasser», eine Abkürzung für kounryusui 行雲流水: «ziehende Wolken, fliessendes Wasser». Unsui ist auch die Bezeichnung für einen Zen-Mönch. Das kann ein Mönch sein, der um Aufnahme in ein Kloster bittet, oder ein Mönch, der von Kloster zu Kloster pilgernd seinen Meister sucht. Unsui hat verschiedene Bedeutungen, die mich persönlich, meine Arbeit, unsere kleine, lebendige und engagierte Gruppe widerspiegeln. Unsui ist auch Teil eines grösseren Ganzen, das in einem sich ständig verändernden Leben miteinander verbunden ist. Die erweiterte Gemeinschaft der Soto-Zen-Linie von Kobun, in der wir als Gruppe lernen und praktizieren, wird Phönix-Wolke-Sangha genannt. Es ist entzückend festzustellen, dass unsere kleinen «ziehenden Wolken» aus der grossen Phönix-Wolke hervorgegangen sind.

Wir sitzen, um dem Leben einen Sinn zu geben. Die Bedeutung unseres Lebens erfährt man nicht im Streben, etwas Vollkommenes zu schaffen. Wir müssen einfach damit beginnen, uns selbst zu akzeptieren. Sitzen bringt uns zu dem zurück, wer und wo wir eigentlich sind.
